With October snowstorms in the west and November snowmaking temps in the east, the 2019-20 ski and ride season is off to a promising start, with Eldora, Loveland, Winter Park, Arapahoe Basin and Keystone open for snow in Colorado while the Beast of the East Killington Resort is open in Vermont - matched briefly by the not-so-beast of the east Cataloochee ski area in North Carolina which opened over the weekend and plans to re-open in a few days. Other resorts around the country opened briefly for the weekend and many more are on tap to kick off the new season very soon.
