The very first album I ever bought when I was in 8th grade. I remember like yesterday standing in the record store and agonizing between this album and Styx's Pieces of Eight. Debby Harry on the cover certainly helped my adolescently hormoned choice and I decided that the Styx album would have to wait for another day. To this day, Eat to the Beat holds up in my collection as a top favorite. One of Blondie's signature tunes "Dreaming" was born on this album but a bevy of other great songs abounds, including "Union City Blue," "Shayla," "Die Young Stay Pretty," "Slow Motion," the dreamy lullaby "Sound-A-Sleep" and the heart-pounding, gas pedal-punching "Atomic" make this record a true ripper.
